Perma banned for drop trading

Had no idea this was against the rules and I didnt benefit at all from it. Seemingly perma banned after having criticized pazaz on how he runs the server lol… 0 people got banned for drop trading back in 2004. You guys clearly have never even played the game back then and its no wonder why this server is dieing out.

I can assure you there is no correlation between your forum posts and ingame actions. I don’t know who you are

If you drop traded between your alts, you were flagged for multilogging. If you drop traded and were flagged for RWT, that is a different thing.

Please review the rules here: Guide | 2004Scape whether you agree or disagree with them, those are what the mods follow.

i understand Pazaz response to my thread and I think that is respectable, but he is missing the ultimate fun that RS brought for +90% of the playerbase who were engaged. All of that stems from the black market stuff. Like you mentioned in your reply, RS was about PKing, staking, risk taking. That is the heart of the game still

I wasnt multi logging the acc is a lvl 3. and I wasnt RWT’ing. A perma ban for a simple drop trade seems extreme. I logged on the account because some guy had just quit and was giving items away for free.

It’s right there in the rules in black and white. Has been since the beginning.

The account I dropped the items from is lvl 3 lol… how is that against the rules.

That implies im playing 2 accounts at the same time and gaining an advantage from that. The acc in question has 0 xp.

It says: You must not drop trade between alts or use friends to trade between alts!

Amount of XP does not matter.

I understand this to some extent but that’s not what we are recreating here. Yes the underground stuff was fun from a certain perspective but it’s not within scope for this project.

OpenRSC has official botting worlds and 3rd-party clients with built-in scripts. There are certain places where this platonic ideal of cheating is explored (not gambling/RWT which is probably what you really mean when you say “staking and risk taking”). Lost City just isn’t one of them.

You clearly arent understanding what im saying. Regardless, this was never a rule back in 2004. People shared accounts, and drop traded to alts all the time. You guys can die on ur hill of horrible moderation, the server will get forked with character copy method most likely and ppl will move on. I would like keep playing but knowing you guys, ud rather have a dead server.

Incorrect:

From the 2004-era rules page. There’s a similar one for account sharing:

Ask anyone who played back then. you would know what ur saying is bs. Even now account sharing is allowed lmfao in osrs. If you can find someone who got banned back then, at all not even perma for those things then sure. I thought this server was supposed to be historically accurate.

I don’t need to, I have copies of Jagex’s website from 2004 saying it wasn’t allowed.

OSRS does not matter and we don’t care about any of their “rules” – they have relaxed the rules of the game to an extreme extent over the years. This is an RS2 server, not an OSRS server.

OSRS is a different game with different rules and design considerations. Just because Jagex did a poor job enforcing their rules back in the day doesn’t change the fact that they were the rules.

Should people be allowed to bot on this server because they were getting away with it back then (and still are to this day)?

Okay how do you know those are legit copies that were live? You dont. Als, again ask anyone. No one got banned for those things even if they were ever “rules” on a website that got updated every other month

It is publicly available from the Internet Archive. Unless you think the Internet Archive is colluding to confuse people about RuneScape game rules from 2004, which would be quite the degree of paranoia.

True, those thousands of archived pages from the wayback machine could be forged!!

Sorry, did you just ask, “How do you know the internet archive site is accurate?”

It may of been on for a month or less. That doesnt mean it was ever enforced.
