Logout Timer Extension?

I’ve noticed the logout timer is incredibly short. It’s supposed to be 5 minutes. Are there any plans to fix this? If I take a quick trip to the kitchen or bathroom I’m logged out every time and it’s quite frustrating.
Thank you.

I don’t remember exactly but I recall when I was playing back in the day that running off for a quick bathroom break would log me out. The RuneScape Classic timer was 5 minutes, so it stands to reason that 2004Scape should also be, but remember also that 2004Scape has punishments for missing random events, so you probably don’t actually want to leave your game idling for that long.

The point I was making is that the timer seems to be 60 seconds which doesn’t seem to be correct. It’s very well known that the logout timer is 5 minutes for RS2, OSRS, RS3. I don’t remember it being 60 seconds. Just thought I should bring it up because it’s been confusing me for the past few weeks.

Hello! The length of the logout timer is handled by the client. Our client is 99.99% authentic, it’s based on the original May 18th 2004 client!

I’m not sure when they changed it to 5 minutes

it was changed from 90 seconds to 5 minutes in January 2009: Logout Timer Increase | RuneScape Wiki | Fandom

I dont like it either. You actually still get AFK kicked even if you are performing an action e.g cutting a yew tree.

Yes I agree. The only time you don’t logout is if you’re being attacked by a random.

Yeah i agree. the log out timer is only like 2 minutes, they should raise it to at least 5.

The point of the project is to be authentic to the time period. We wont change stuff for QOL
