i just got defense xp straight from a login, has this happened to anyone else?
I’m a pure and currently doing range. Veen here at hellhounds longer than i care to remember. Freshly logged back in and started attacking and gained a defense lvl.
zero chance I swapped over accidently due to litterally just logging in.
Just curious if this is common, hate to get 70+ range and mage again
Used to be a thing on classic with pid. Guessing it never got resolved.
What do you mean? I haven’t heard of what you’re talking about - could you elaborate?
In RSC players would get Defence XP incorrectly or “randomly” based on their PID?

It was a thing in classic. I might need to go scrounge in the rscp discord to find them talking about it. No idea why it would be in rs2 as combat XP drops are based on damage and not kills like rsc.

In RSC, combat XP is awarded upon kill, not upon hit. If you partially kill a monster and then flee combat, you will gain XP when another player kills the same monster. This can result in gaining XP while offline.
PID has nothing to do with it.
How does someone come up with that let alone implement it 
Hit a Hill Giant a little, travel across the world to an Inn, stay a few hours, then out of nowhere gain insight in combat because someone unrelated decided to kill that giant across the world

I assume it’s implemented in a similar way to how kill credit is calculated for drops. When you deal damage, the server counts how much each player did, and that isn’t reset until the monster respawns.
