Thoughts on Multi-logging

Thoughts on allowing people to play 2 accounts at once? Even if you can’t trade or interact between the 2 accounts I for example play a 1 def pure and it would be cool to level up a main account as well and do the quests like dragon slayer and heroes. The issue is unless you’re playing 12+ hours a day, forcing someone to choose between training 1 account or the other makes it very unrealistic for anyone to have a pure/main account.

Opinion: RuneScape is designed for you to play one account. That’s why there aren’t character classes. You make one account and progress it. Making other accounts is of course allowed, but it is optional if you want to take on the additional burden. Why should we bend the rules to make an optional challenge easier for you?

Have you also considered the implications this would have on enforcing the rule against true cheaters? It’s much harder to police multilogging cheaters if a legitimate form of multilogging is permitted.

The multi-log rule was never actually enforced on runescape btw. Also do you really believe there are not people already abusing multi-logging? There are plenty of accounts that look like obvious alts I’m starting to doubt if they are really policing this stuff as it is…

Based on the ban logs, there def are

Also gambling was never against the rules but yet they have taken a clear stance on not allowing this either so I really don’t understand your logic by saying the game was different back in 2004 and you want to keep the rules the same but are okay with them banning gambling?

what ban logs? do they show players that have been banned recently?

They’re taking a stance now because there’s gambling taking place here wherase there was virtually none back in ‘04, meaning it wasn’t an issue that needed to be addressed. It can become an unnecessary headache to moderate if people end up getting scammed, and it can even act as another method for RWT, so it’s in the servers best interest to just outlaw it. Besides, it’s cringe behavior when certain people just log in to spam games of chance outside W1 West Bank

I hear you, I personally don’t care for gambling however the point was they made a new rule one that was never a thing back in 2004 so they could change a old outdated rule… people on osrs play 3-4 accounts at a time and like I said it was a rule that was never enforced in the first place. No one was getting banned for playing two accounts back in the day ever.

To my knowledge it wasn’t strictly enforced, but IMO, it’s the intent that matters. It was officially a rule then so it is a rule here. You also have to give Jagex the benefit of the doubt in that they had hundreds of thousands of players to monitor back in the day, so it was likely a lot more difficult to detect that kind of activity, not to mention having to distinguish multiple unique players coming from the same IP address.
