How does pid work when staking?
I staked someone about ~8 times. Each time we logged and hopped worlds, but he had pid every single time. Seems far fetched that If pid is assigned on log on, I didnt get it once in 8 stakes?
Cheers

PID is influenced by IP, which sets your starting point basically. If we had 2k full worlds, then hopping or relogging would average out to be fairly distributed, but at lower population you almost never leave your “bracket.”
OSRS has made many changes to PID to make it effectively random — way back in the day, for whatever reason, Andrew made IP part of the equation.
I see. Very interesting.
So more or less, if someone has pid on you during 1 stake, its likely they will have pid on you indefinitely (at least for the foreseeable future / current session) ?
Thx for the replies. Appreciate your work, Pazaz
Likely yes - if you happen to be in the same bracket however you may be able to swap between both of you by relogging. Back in the day some people used VPNs to pick specifically advantaged IPs!
