Muling is illigal right?

is it illigal? even when I have a friend, who will give me back the ore for example back later?

If your friend is giving the ores back to the same account he got them from (meaning he was doing bank runs for you) then that’s fine.

If you’re mining ores on your main and having your friend trade them to your alt, that’s against the rules.

If a friend mules items between two accounts owned by the same person, that friend risks being banned alongside the other two accounts.

Interacting in any way between multiple accounts owned by a single person is against the rules.

This includes using one account to materially advantage another, even if both are not logged in concurrently – which means no drop trades and no muling across multiple accounts owned by the same person.

May I ask why? Was this illigal back in 2004 aswell? Things would be alot easier with an alt

Multilogging was against the rules in 2004, yes. Rule 8:

We enforce this rule because it preserves the game’s balance and prevents unfair metagaming.

2004 is meant to be simple and nostalgic. Playing with an alt makes the game easier which is unbalanced and unfair to other players who can’t or won’t use alts.

We don’t want players to feel like they need to use alts in order to build relevant accounts or be competitive in the game. We also want players to be social and interact with one another, instead of only interacting with themselves on alternate accounts.

Lastly our player counts should accurately reflect how many people are playing the game. We don’t want inflated player counts due to multilogging.
