Was wondering if respawn times for rocks are different depending on current world population or just static, couldn’t see a noticable difference between world 1 with 100+ pop and the other worlds with less than 40 after mining mithril (about 3:50). If it does change then is there a graph to see how it changes?
The mods might be able to see the specific player intervals that changes respawn timer. But from my memory, until a world has around 500+ players, it remains at the slowest timer. There should also be a few other intervals between that and the fastest timer when around 1800+ players. But for now those intervals are irrelevant, as even during peak hours world 1 is only at 200-300 players.
Ok ty, was mostly curious since Osrs respawns were a lot faster and found an old forum post mentioning population changing the timers in old days. Also might be real useful if population grows when member world is released.
OSRS npc/resource respawn times are at maximum speed (2k world population). OSRS still uses world population for item respawning though, the formula for that can be found here.
There is however a small issue with some of our resource respawn behavior in the engine, where some resources are 1t slower than they should be. This will be fixed soon.
Ok ty, so the mithril rocks almost taking 4 minutes to respawn is not intended and should be fixed at 2?
But if population were to actually grow substantially with members release I personally wouldn’t mind if the respawn rates scale with population, if that was intended back in 04.
Cool to see other F2P ironmen dedicated to the project BTW, shows how awesome 04scape is.
