Lost City Rumor Mill

Heard a rumor that a player told another player that the rare they had was a common and only worth 300k. This player sold the rare to the other for 300k.

Would this, if true, be item scamming? Mod Question.

Nah; another player relied on another player for pricing, felt the price was ok for the trade, and successfully did it. If the trader didn’t feel scammed, why would anyone unrelated care?

This is a question of rule clarification.

If true, pretty certain this would breach original rule #2 - Item scamming:
“You must not scam or deceive other players. Lying to other players for your own personal gain is not in the spirit of the game”

if this way against the rules, merching would be against the rules no..? i see ppl upcharge and get insane deals all the time at w2 big bank

Do you see a 200 gp item sold for 350 the same as a 50m+ item sold for 300k as the same?

The main issue is if the player deceived the seller into thinking the item was cheap. That’s my main question.

i hear ya, i just only think this could be a problem cause theres a better chance its just rwt than someone believing the rare is 300k

If this is the same as the rumor from a couple weeks back, Pazaz shut down that rumor on these forums. But if new and true, I would agree that would likely breach rule 2.

this sale was said to have happened to day before 10am EST

This instance is new and not true. Some smear campaign against the “buyer” I’d guess, or trying to look cool. Whatever the case is no trade took place.
(Also Adamdrex did not get a mask!)
