If you had to guesstimate, how long until Jan2005?

Not holding any devs to any commitments, but I’m curious about how long it’d take to get to Jan of '05? Another year or so?

Would help to plan out what to do over the next 6-12 months for my account haha

if its 1year I’m quitting

ts a miracle this game is retaining 500 players when it takes months to get an account pk ready just to have no content lmao

btw game should of been 2.25xp from the jump, 1x is not viable at all

btw I have no patience

It’s being developed for preservation. Not to host as a server. That’s a bonus. If it drops to 0 players they’ll still be programming it.

is there any 04scape forks u know about that are gaining traction?

I don’t want to leave regardless. I just wanna know if I should stay 50 attack for gmaul or go 60 attack because gmauls wont be here for a long long time lol

my guess is probably after summer?

I would hazard a guess that we’re going to be in 2004 until at least next year.

If I had to guess, nothing before end of year.

  1. Pazaz has had less time to code since launching the server since he’s been dealing with the players as well, so I think the dev pace would slow down.
  2. The codebase isn’t ready for new contributors to write future revision content yet
  3. Even if the above issues had no impact on timelines, completing 2004 before EOY would be the same pace Jagex (a full company) developed at

they need to speed up the updates because the game has so little content as it is now

kinda, is just that 2004 had so few content, most of the juicy stuff was mostly 2005 i wouldn’t mind being stuck at 2005 for a year

I agree it’ll take longer but on part 3 I would say it’s significantly easier now. They don’t have to brainstorm ideas, create models, storyboard, test if an item is too powerful, etc. and I believe there’s 50 people working on this project with varying amounts of credit.

If I recall in one of the Podcasts they stated don’t be surprised if it takes about 2x as long. If it’s 8 months till slayer. I wouldn’t be surprised if it takes a year 1/2 to get to slayer/farming release.

But that all depends. Now that it’s out there are players like myself that wouldn’t mind helping, however we can, with development. Even if it’s just gruntwork like turning the mob data from the wiki into code (drop rates, monster levels & stats, etc).

majority of nooby players will take forever to get high stats so the slow updates benefit them  aswell as for the people that have a life

I thought lost city was going to stay stuck in 2004 and not be updated. Until what date will it be updated?

The official release announcement for Lost City said that future updates are planned, but later communications clarified that the 2004 version will always be available. Basically, when 2005 content is released, you will have the option to copy your character to 2005scape whilst leaving your 2004scape character in 2004.
