Check your adventure log. Put your character name at the end of this URL: https://2004.lostcity.rs/player/adventurelog/
The adventure log tracks random events. Just because you didn’t see it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. If you had been walking around, the NPC may have gotten stuck on something.
