Is there a mistake? Was the update supposed to apply to other side of the wall?? That was everyones legendary path to collect limps, make battlestaffs, kill blue dragons, collect vials…
The chatbox says i cant climb over from this side. Is this a sick joke?

We had to make this change because the two way shortcut was introduced in 2005, as we discovered and fixed. In RSC and 2004-2005 it was one way!
Not the intent to make you angry. Remember that the code exists for the future people to have history to look back on, we don’t want to accidentally change history by leaving a mistake in. This is all part of the process as we find new sources and correct any assumptions

I thought maybe the code was mixed up as opposed to having you not enter from the side opposite of bank? I’ve only ever seen people use it directly from bank not vice versa… hope it all works out
If you look at the obstacle it makes more sense that the one way is on the side the wall has crumbled (West to east).

This is why 2004 is a pretty good era to me; the shortcut was put there for an intended reason with agility level, with art to match. You aren’t supposed to (without a grapple; see Yanille), climb a perfect wall, with the goal to fall into rubble 
The change later is only to suit quality-of-life and speed; what else do people use that shortcut for if not blue dragons?
The shortcut was not implemented as a go-to-dragons shortcut, but was later changed to be that. Lore-wise I’m not sure how the hole ended up there, but it’s interesting Fally would just leave a hole next to their bank in a guarded walled-city
