I’m curious which parts of the client interface will reset the idle timeout. Like if I switch around between the Skills tab and Inventory, does that reset the timer? Or do I need to click to walk around? Or click trees to execute on actions? I’m particularly frustrated that I keep getting logged out when I’m cutting Yew trees, which I recognize is a very idle-heavy skill.
if youre a skiller youre out of luck, if you have defence a monster attacking you will do the trick
I see it differently; skillers are much more impressive because they have to deal with 2004 mechanics
Generally moving your mouse will keep you logged in. I just sort of -always- fiddle around with my inventory or just absent-mindedly move my mouse without clicking things.
However, I did just get auto-logged as I typed the previous paragraph
Mousing over the client resets the logout timer. The client doesn’t even need to be focused. This is probably not authentic - I’m guessing it required a left/right click or keyboard input in actual 2004.
Give yew trees in gnome stronghold a try with a gnome hitting you
Mouse movement over the client (must be focused) and any keystrokes or clicks in the client will reset the 90s timer.
If I’m AFKing yews, I usually have YT up on second monitor, refocus the game client on first monitor and move the mouse in circles every few seconds.
I’ve got a similar setup – OSRS takes over the entire left side of my monitor, and then on the right side I split the screen into 2004scape and YouTube/Discord/etc.
I’ll try wandering my mouse over the client every once in a while to see if that helps - thanks everyone!
The logout timer is 90s, and the client does not need to be focused. Just mouse over it and it will reset the logout timer.
Yea I meant 90s, not sure why I typed 45. (edited it correct)
As far as it being focused or not, I was just going off of what Pazaz has stated in the past. Perhaps the intention is for it to be focused, even if it works unfocused.
