Wonder why dragon med helms and dragonstones are not on fire giants drop table? I remember training my range up th÷re back in the day. And both of these being drops there. I checked rsc and they are both listed as drops there.
They have a 1/12 chance to roll the rare drop table. From there the chance to roll a d med or dragonstone is 1/128 or 1/64.

Might have something to do with the rdt? Not sure if there was an update that moved certain items from the regular drop pool to just an overall rare drop table, but I can assure you fire giants do drop both dragon meds and shield lefts (and dragonstones), might just need a row to help. Also maybe KBD having a dmed drop Jagex moved them from fire giants? Not sure just my thought
As far as i remember only kbd and fire giants dropped dragon meds. Never knew them to be on a rare drop table. Or a dragonstone itself being on the rare drop table? Could be me not remembering correctly but im sure kbd and fire giants only dropping it. Just like kalphite queen and dust devils for dragon chain.

I was killing moss giants 1 hour ago and some guy ran by coming from the water fall fire giants saying “omg i just got a dmed from fire giants” then traded me and showed me his drops and it was dmed, 3 rune scims and other stuff. So unless he ran there with a fake setup for fire giants and lied about the drops he showed me, then in pretty sure fire giants drop a dmed lol
They definitely drop Dmed, just not on their standard table.
If you check its drops its not listed and searching dragon med doesnt show it either. Now if you look on the rare drop table it shows it as a drop under it. But unless I’m mistaken anything on the rare drop table is accessible by anything that has it as a drop? So does this mean lesser demons and chaos druids can drop it now as well? Very confusing.
i did see a screenshot of a player obtaining a shield left from chaos druids, but i understand what you mean. not sure honestly
Back in the day i got a shield left half from the lesser demon in wizards tower was thankful i brought telekinetic grab that day lol
But it does make me wonder if all things have access to the rdt can drop anything from it or not? I know thats the case from the main game. But i do not remember it being on the rdt? Unless that was a recent change?
From my understanding, I think it works kind of like clue scrolls where only specific npcs have access to rdt and can drop items from it? hopefully someone with more knowledge on the topic comments cause i’d like to know myself

There is the Jewel drop table. There is the ultra rare drop table. And there is the mega rare drop table.
Almost everything has access to the Jewel drop table. If you’ve ever gotten a sapphire/emerald/ruby/diamond then that CAN access the jewel drop table.
From that drop table you have a CHANCE to hit the mega rare drop table which drops shield left half and dragon spear.
Fire Giants, KBD, Black Demons, and Black Dragons all can access the ULTRA rare drop table. This has a d med on it.
Kbd can drop a d med at 1/128 as well as drop it by hitting the ultra rare drop table.
Fire Giants/Black demons/black dragons can only get d med by hitting the ultra rare drop table.

So for example this is what KBD has access to
Regular drop table:
1/128 for d med
Gem drop table → Mega rare drop table → shield left, d spear, rune spear.
Ultra rare drop table → d med
Ultra rare drop table → gem drop table → mega rare drop table
→ shield left, d spear, rune spear
