Feels like the good times, before the dark times

Hi my username is YT Da White (a play on Gandalf The White, but more gangsta, Whitey was my nickname for years) and my real name is Chris, I live in the UK. I had to create a separate account just to post in here, as it won’t let me log in with my character name on here for some reason.

I started playing RuneScape around 2003 (the early days of Classic), I was introduced to the game by a friend of mine and I didn’t even have my own PC back then, but I was saving up for a second hand one with Windows XP! I was 28 around that time (so quite old now!) and I got addicted to the game, just like everyone else, even though I didn’t realise at the time.

I got quite high levels in RuneScape (same character name) up until the release of RuneScape 2 and my character still exists in both RS3 (which I rarely play since EoC came out) and OldSchool RuneScape. A lot of my friends from when I first started in 2003 don’t log in anymore, either they have forgotten their login details or their accounts have been deleted by Jagex through inactivity, which sucks.

Whilst I do play OldSchool RuneScape occasionally, it just doesn’t feel the same anymore as it used to do. Everyone seems obsessed with getting 99’s in all skills or Boss killing, which doesn’t interest me as much as it used to. Maybe it’s me who has changed? I don’t know.

I have played one of the RuneScape Classic builds online (Open RSC), but I forgot my login details and I can’t be bothered starting again in Classic, as much as I liked the nostalgia of playing like I did in 2003, there are too many limitations to that game now.

I play either on my All in One PC (given to me by my sister’s boyfriend) or on my new Tablet, even though chatting on it can be challenging with the onscreen keyboard messing up the screen scaling! I may have to mess about with the settings again…

So far I am enjoying the game, it brings back memories of grinding levels to be able to make the stuff I can eventually make money with and the satisfaction that comes with it. I have made one friend in game so far and he helped me out with runes to level up my magic to 25, so I can at least teleport to Varrock now. So much faster to get around! He also gave me a Magic Amulet, a Power Amulet, some gp, some duelling rings and a Zamorak Robe top. It was very generous of him.

Well I think that’s it for now, I have rambled on enough. Thanks for reading and saying “Hi” if you see me in game.

Welcome to the Lost City!
A real safe haven for anyone craving the feel of simpler times.
It’s awesome to see experienced players drawn to this preservation project.
Great adventures await you, good luck out there!

Thanks man, I look forward to when I can make useful items, but they probably won’t be of any use until the next game update like the Sapphire Necklace becoming a Games Necklace. At least the Duelling Ring exists in game, which is handy to know and makes teleporting to Al Kharid a bit quicker.

Close to getting 40 mining already after 3 days of playing, smithing may take a bit longer though to unlock those sweet jewellery profits.
