Do random events occur in the Wilderness?

I was thinking about how someone could potentially abuse a random event that teleports you when they are in deep Wilderness and get out of a bad situation for free.

Can confirm at least Mysterious Old Man is able to appear in the wildy of Edgeville Dungeon, not sure past level 20 if he would tele you, but maybe!

I’ve also gotten swarms, plants and drunken dwarves in the wildy but don’t think any of those can tele.
