Day 19 Forging the Rune Axe

Current Trades
Items Bought: Nature Talisman, Glory x3, Tooth Half Key

Not wanting to give up I cut some gems to see if I could get some extra crafting levels!

Unfortunately, I was not able to get 66 crafting! Yeah I messed up!
For any early miner/smithers reading stock up on your silvers early!

This day was odd the amount of favors I did was staggering…

On mobile btw; but as usual couldn’t say no

Helped this guy with his dragon slayer quest!

Donation toward my friends herblore grind!

This one doesn’t count =)

FINALLY 85 SMITH HAS BEEN ACHIEVED!!!

Lmao can barely make anything out of it!

At least I get to see that sweet rune table…

Axes made the woodcutting skill has been unlocked!!!

Considering this took almost 4 months now I think my excitement is justified!

Prepping for legends quest we have some strength training to do!

Build Changes:
Alright lets talk build changes here is the current state of my bank

I almost have 40k essence which was my afk activity. To be honest we have enough essence for my mining method, so I’m switching to willows for now. I need to get 50 woodcutting for legends. Afterward 60 woodcutting and 65 fletching for the yew shortbow to deal with blue dragons post 83 ranged!

Thanks to the influx of players because of rares I will be doing a ranged first strategy during the weekdays.

This means I’m more focused on raising ranged and will only do smithing if I need items from it. A good example is making iron knives for 82->83 ranged only as I need them and making things to optimally sell to the general store so I can buy feathers for fletching. Or perhaps even make and alch rune axes if I’m in a rush.

During the weekends I will do mining/smithing first strategy.

I will be more focused on getting smithing levels and passive crafting levels. For example this means making items even if they aren’t optimal to sell to the general store and stocking up on an abundance of iron knives so I have them in the future to use. Also trying to preserve my rune ore for rune swords.

Since I used up all my extra natures I will have to resort to using ring of forging as my primary training method!

I’ll challenge myself and see if I can manage 88 smithing without zanaris shop for fun!

congrats! now comes the joy of coal mining (where I am)

Congrats on 85 smithing, such an iconic level  And those are some juicy rune stacks in your bank

Day 20 Road to Legend - Melee Training Edition

Current Trades
Items Bought: Nature Talisman, Glory x3, Tooth Half Key
Items Sold: None

I need to get the level requirements for legends quest; I got 50 wc during my afk time (quite fast) so now I just need 50 strength!

So I went to kill some chaos druids so I could bank some extra herblore on the way!

These guys don’t hit very hard I don’t think I need the adamant stuff…

I have an idea probably from my experience getting 85/97/90 melees in f2p osrs…

Permanent 10% dps boost, dreams do come true! Lets go!!!

No. I’m not running to the monastery every trip. Also yes I’m using prayer potions!

Had to prayer flick to sustain a dps boost but here I can just sit on 10% and sip away. HAHAHA love 04!

I know someone reading this is going to give me gripe about this so I guess I’ll address this now. Where do you use prayer potions aside from the wilderness? These guys also drop ranarrs, snape grass and vial of water… Perfect for making prayer potions as you go!

Also, since I don’t want to use too many limps for regular strength potions, the prayer potions help to ensure I’m getting the most out of every potion.

I had to manage my strength potions for around 3 months so I know the strategy is to maintain your highest TWO max hits. I max a 12 with strength potion and prayer so Id focus on hitting 11 or higher.

Also rune sweep while I’m recharging glories at heroes!

I buy a few addy tips on the way here too.

Ok! All done!

Stat requirements met off to become a legend!

Seriously though I am sustaining my ranarr stack at sub 50 str and 52 prayer, its the snape grass that’s slowly depleting. I’m pretty sure you profit on ranarr at higher levels. Unless you’re trying to merch off of prayer potions, or can’t make prayer potions you should be using them here with monks robes. They will be useful in the future, yeah, but for now not really.

this is what prayer pots are for. that and stacking for slayer release

Day 21 The Legendary Cyanwarrior4!

Current Trades
Items Bought: Nature Talisman, Glory x3, Tooth Half Key
Items Sold: None

Today was an odd day for me; I broke my phone so I’ve lost
my ability to afk for the time being! Noooo

Missed level 60 but made my maple shortbow!

One super long and tedious quest completed!

Congrats on the slowest completion time of this quest this account is almost 4 months old!

Much needed herblore levels still need to get 54 herblore for super strength potions!

That is something I’ll deal with in the future; crafting is more important for my build!

Look at that sweet cape!

Lets talk ranged strategy I need to get to 83 ranged for that adamant arrow breakpoint so I can start ranging blue dragons effectively for crafting xp. I need more glories for my rc build and I refuse to buy anymore. I also need both 60 woodcutting and 65 fletching for a yew shortbow! (Dang why did I drop my phone I’m such a klutz..)

Ranged is the only activity I can fletch my iron darts without it slowing me down so I need to upkeep my feathers.

Yeah, I was forced to make many in the wilderness never quite got pked though…

Ranged grind begins!

Awesome a ruby! We need those too now!

Rather short post I need to get a new phone asap!

I admire your stats. For how long have you been playing so far? I’ll be following the thread. Goodluck!

Thanks I have been playing since members first released around 4 months now. I’ve been playing consistent 6-10 hour days since then. If you put in the same time and effort I’m sure you can achieve the same thing.

As an 04 ironman this is one of many ways the game could be played; you’re seeing this from a perspective of an rcer who became a mining/smithing specialist. It’s very possible to do maybe a fishing → melee path or even a wcer → ranged path.

Day 22 Becoming a Ranger! Ranged-first strategy!

Current Trades
Items Bought: Nature Talisman, Glory x3, Tooth Half Key
Items Sold: None

Since I can’t do my usual afk activities I logged off at rune rocks for a rune-sweep!

What an awesome trip I need both emeralds and rubies now!

Hopefully more trips like this to come!

Rune kite drop, lucky and unlucky at the same time.

I can’t complain after my clue scroll luck though!

Just one more ranged level to go for the next milestone, doing quite well!

and… I’m out of feathers just when I was getting into the grind!

110k more iron darts to make, I originally made 200k.

I was so close to 65 fletching so I figured may as well get the level!

Just 60 woodcutting remains… no comment on that.

After all that talk about focusing on ranged I find myself at the mines once more! I don’t have fishing guild access and I’m not hopping for feathers so, I need something to smelt so I can passively buy them while at shilo!

Ohh, an emerald!

Another emerald!

Ok, I’ll stop now…

I’ll go into this mining method in more depth later, probably get around 1k iron then start smelting! However If you hate mining one way to go about it is to do it in small chunks! More ranged action soon! Hopefully…

Ah yeah, that explains. I am not willing nor do I have the time to play so many hours everyday. Adult life and responsibilities, but the ‘‘casual’’ play makes my playtime worth every moment that I am online.

I do have holidays now, so playtime will be a bit more than usual.

I’ll be honest if this was f2p osrs I’d tell you to quit. However here its very worth playing casual, since there is both more content and it updates slow enough for casual play.

You should become a jack of trades to make effective use of your limited time. Focus on questing and just get all skills to their respective 50-60 milestones. I recommend keeping rc at level 1 and just buy runes from the shop or players because rc requires a ton of time and doesn’t get useful until 44+.

Day 23 Desperate Feather gathering

Current Trades
Items Bought: Nature Talisman, Glory x3, Tooth Half Key

The usual rune sweep since I’m still waiting on my new phone..

Got this while mining; wow those genie lamps really add up!

A shoutout while mining!

Am I becoming popular?

Alright lets focus now! Smelting time! I am doing my silver first so I can work my way toward 66 crafting

My strategy is every trip of symbols I buy 300 feathers

Of course I made some of these for my iron!

We should be getting enough gold from my mining method for ruby rings…

Iron is a tad bit different since I spend less time at the furnace; every 2 trips I buy 300 feathers.

Ohh I forgot ring of forgings break and there’s no qol so it’s easy to miss the message if I’m not paying attention!

1k iron and 200 silver smelted finished for now.

Did not accomplish much today in terms of gains since I had to deal with my new phone I just got! Tomorrow my afk time will be back!

Day 24 The Fire Giant Pattern

Current Trades
Items Bought: Nature Talisman, Glory x3, Tooth Half Key
Items Sold: None

Well I am back in business and knocked out 60 wc

Now we are set for blue dragons in the future I can make a yew shortbow!

Now back to ranging! I prefer to use this room since there is a pattern I like to follow. First, I start here obviously since the aggression timer hasn’t expired.

After the first giant has been slain, I count to 20-25 as I partially kill the next one. I don’t have time to fully kill before the first giant respawns.

If you’re too slow the first giant will attack you and interrupt your kill!

If you’re lucky sometimes the bat will trap the first giant and stop him from attacking you!

My first fan pm, yeah getting popular anyway back on topic!

If that happens focus on the other two fire giants; be sure to kill both of them then pick up the double loot!

Silver ore btw! One of the best drops I can get I need these!

That’s about it its pretty straightforward once aggression runs out! Also this pattern only works if you are alone in the room so bear that in mind! This is why I range during the week and not the weekend!

80 Ranged! Dragon Battle Axe boost milestone achieved!

Another level for the day! Hitpoints level these are handy for my rc build… We will talk about this in the future!

Ruby delivery, thank you they help with my challenge!

I feel the other room is better with more people but you would start at this spot.

Be sure to target the eastern giants so they get trapped and don’t attack you!

This side is more xp/hr especially if you skip burying the big bones. It also can support multiple people unlike the other room!

Personally though after spending 4 months killing giants if I see big bones I click and bury them always. It drives the f2p veteran nuts when I see a ton of big bones on the ground…

2 more levels until another prayer potion milestone!

Thats all I have for today! Tomorrow we will discuss my mining-first strategy!

Yeah, this is a solid method, it’s how I got 70 Crafting in OSRS on an Ultimate ironman, except I didn’t teleport, I ran everywhere. One additional action I did was to sell the crafted materials to the General store to stack up some GP. I would hop worlds if the store got too full.

Day 25 Mining-first strategy!

Current Trades
Items Bought: Nature Talisman, Glory x3, Tooth Half Key
Items Sold: None

Its the weekend so its mining time! First, I should go over my main mining method! This method does require glories so ironmen bear that in mind!

Start at edgeville bank and be sure to bring your pickaxe, fire talisman and ring of dueling!

Teleport to the dueling arena and head straight to the fire altar.

Then exit the fire altar and run up to the mines!
Mine the two pieces of gold; skip if you don’t have goldsmith gauntlets

Run slightly north and mine the three silver rocks. I recommend you do this for passive crafting xp!

Run north east and pick up the 3 fire rune spawn, yes I’m greedy! Then mine the two silver rocks.

Simply mine the three formation iron rocks.

Glory teleport back to the bank and repeat the process!

This method is especially good for me because crafting fire runes is the fastest rc xp in the game right now and I can passively gather 5 silver and 2 gold for crafting every trip!

71 runecrafting achieved 3 more levels to go!

Mining Configurations
There are several ways to approach this mine and I’m going to go over the relevant ones for my account!

Pure Iron (Configuration 1)

Likely the fastest trips you can make, its faster iron banking than yanille but I’m unsure how it stacks up against ardy.

Personally I cannot afford to miss out on crafting xp!

Pure Iron Superheat Variation (Configuration 1)

Probably the best superheat method overall, but you do get less rc xp per emerald.

I was doing this for a bit until I realized I could be passively gathering silver; you also get less rc/mining/smith xp per emerald which wasn’t too good for me!

Smithing Focus (Goldsmithing Only) Configuration 2

Gives the most smithing xp per trip but since you’re mining gold it will slow down your trips.

This is kinda a desperate option for me so I can get 88 smithing with the emeralds I have but I’m already at a surplus thanks to the grand tree mine!

Smithing/Crafting split (Goldsmithing Only) Configuration 3

Of course the one I just showed you. Obviously if you don’t have goldsmithing gauntlets skip the gold! Silver gathering is so important for crafting xp!

As it stands I forgot to mention I had a 32 emerald surplus after I got 85 smithing if I use this method. So admittedly I stopped counting! I will also get 88 smithing and 71 crafting at the end of the grind! That is a tad bit late for crafting since I don’t have rubies for 88 smith…

Blue Dragon Support Configuration 4

This is probably one of the best ways to gather adamant ore! Since the ore mines so slow you have time to double back for some more silver and gold.

I do have a plan for blue dragons but you will have to wait and see!

So my plan is to use Configuration 3 and just stack up on iron, silver and gold ores to smelt and buy feathers like I did before! I also do 3 rune sweeps a day to slowly stock on those rune ores incase I get hasty and need to do rune smithing!

That’s about it, since I will just be mining tomorrow and I have been asked how I got my stats. I’ll cover the methods I used to get my stats before posting on forums as I grind!

Day 26 Mining & RC grind continues!

Current Trades
Items Bought: Nature Talisman, Glory x3, Tooth Half Key
Items Sold: None

I mainly spent the time grinding away at the mines using Configuration 3! I need to stock up on those ores so I have feathers for ranged + fletching training.

Final results of the day!

1k silvers banked, I can get 66 crafting!

A rather short post but I do want to cover my superheat method I used to get my stats!

A Look into the Cyanwarrior4 Build
The Superheat Method

Recorded xp/hr
23000 mining
8200 smithing (16400 banked)
34800 magic

I used the Yanille Mine for my entire superheat grind!

I also would use the old journal stall to sustain my run energy!

When making darts/knives I would head over to the trawler anvil. Now you have to superheat your way over there!

Shoutout to Scottie for showing me this it really helped!

Simply smith your knives/darts at this anvil which will allow you to forgo banking entirely! For any other items you’ll have to drop them on the way back to the mine!

I also banked once I had 3-4 gems in my inventory

You can also smith other items and bank them here!

Oh yeah, you will also have to use the same tactic I used at the grand tree mine to ensure you have iron to superheat stall with!

Simply superheat the green rocks and don’t superheat the red ones!

Expect more posts like this in the future!

nice to see the yanille mine, a 2004 classic

Day 27 Blue Vambraces, key to the future!

Current Trades
Items Bought: Nature Talisman, Glory x3, Tooth Half Key
Items Sold: None

I opted to get 66 crafting before doing any ranged training, since both blue vambs and extra feathers would be useful!

Final feathers obtained; I hope its enough at least for 82 ranged! I skipped my gold and iron since I need to train ranged as much as possible during the weekdays!

Lets go make some blue vambraces! Yay! A huge milestone; I can at least make something from blue dragon hides now!

Tried to make them as I run but that probably better suited for blue d bodies…

Sweet, plenty of extras made!

We can also make air battlestaves now but… I am um broke… I don’t have the capital and won’t for awhile!

Alright, ranged time! But look at those vambs! Looking good!

Considering the effort and planning I put into crafting I’m going to enjoy the moment!

Two more levels to go!

More ranged action tomorrow!

I absolutely love this take. I couldnt agree more with everything you said. I particularly enjoyed your comparison with a meta path in osrs, its so true.
