Curiosity post about 2004scape

Not a troll thread genuinely curious about this but with the future release of project Zanaris would we see 2004scape potentially ported onto RS side or will this continue to be a RSPS. I am absolutely loving the breath of fresh air this game is and it isnt just nostalgia it feels nice to be able to play amongst fellow minded people who have a love for this game. Like just hanging out at fishing og spot having mindless conversations that isnt flooded with the silence or nonsense brought by the main game.

This projects main goal is to preserve the history of the game. It’s not something they would be able to do with Project Zenaris.

People might be able to create 2004 servers in Zenaris (I’m not sure if they even can) but that would be different than what is going on here.

oh bet. I just really hope this keeps popularity and not just a fad. I am loving this game so much

I think since Lostcity is very well done and very heavily focused on keeping it professional and as close to the game as it can get. There will be a constant influx of those players who want the nostalgia that OSRS no longer brings. That with the plan of releasing content as it came will always draw base players back in who may have quit and will give those spikes.

It could be a fad but I think the numbers will stabilize.

“ What about Project Zanaris?

Zanaris is not preservation, their focus is on giving their community tools to make their own server experiences. It does not save the game for posterity, and it will only exist as long as they are able to host them.

For those that think you can make a recreation on there instead, there have been too many server AND client engine changes over the years. You can not do a side-by-side comparison next to old videos and have them be indistinguishable.

I hope Project Zanaris does well, and maybe it will open Jagex to new possibilities.”

Zanaris is OSRS engine. You can’t make Lost City on it
