Crafting for a solo player

Hey! Mainly just asking here if anyone has any good ideas on how to halfway effectively level up crafting on an ironman…
I’m currently just mining gem rocks in Shilo, got goldsmith gauntlets off Fam Crest, so doing this+gold bars should be sort of nice for mining/smithing/crafting.

I have just about written off glassblowing and battlestaves due to them involing so many tedious steps.
Are there any good sources of empty buckets? Or is it just gonna be too much of a headache in the end?

I do have some dragonhides which I’ll make use of eventually, but hunting dragons doesn’t feel like the most effective way of targeting crafting XP.

For battlestabes collect seaweed while fishing at shilo. They add up pretty fast.

They’re actually pretty good XP.

For the staves anytime I go to get a new cat I buy 5. Adds up quick passively.

But otherwise silver/gold is a good way or flax to bowstrings.

Still, just getting heaps of buckets might be another annoying part of it, unless you’d grab half an inventory and just smelt the glass right away and reuse those buckets…

Anytime I’m in Catherby for arrows you can buy 10 buckets from the general store at the port. I’ve got about 200 trying to get at least 500 before ectofuntus but that’s not for a while.

Think that shop has the most buckets most only have 1-3.
