Whatever username i put in, it says i cant register.
This linking to discord is total bullshit in my eyes.
Wanted to try out the server but if i cant even register properly then i wont be playing and recommending to anybody.

i love the old random events and think osrs should actually have them back in so I do want to get into this

Sounds like a user error since thousands of players have registered with no issue.
Best to wait for assistance from staff support.
Blame the abusers who griefed the game with account after account, consuming hours of dev/moderator time in the process. This is why we can’t have nice things. A few bad apples end up ruining it for others, and so the game ends up with a discord account requirement as a workaround. Your frustrations are completely misguided. Regardless, I’m sure we’ll look upon your account that never was as well as those missed recommendations with a heavy heart.
