It says on the wiki you need pure ess to craft member runes. But pure ess didn’t come out until 2006. So is regular ess able to craft cosmic, chaos, nats and laws in 2004?
From what i remembered “rune essence” is used for all runes until the pure essence update. Thats when it splits

This is correct.
Rune ess was heavily botted back in the day because you could mine it on a throwaway account with almost no requirements in f2p for big profit as members needed it to make high level runes.
Yeah pure essence wasn’t around until 2006. I find this very interesting myself, It’s for sure information worth sharing.
