Those holiday events never existed in 2004. OSRS distributes “rares” every event. The inauthenticity of this decision comes from the fact that this server did not progress forward from Classic like real RS2, not from an arbitrary OSRS-like decision. Stop whining just because you didn’t get free riches.
Rares can’t come into the game if the rares came into the game before 2004. It really is that simple.
And mods have nothing to do with it. The only real “JMod” is Pazaz. And there are over 70 contributing developers on the project.
All the other “mods” except for Pazaz are only player moderators. Which is why it doesn’t make sense that the player moderators all have “Mod” accounts. They are creating confusion.
Not having RSC holiday items is inauthentic. Releasing RSC holiday items in a 2004 version of the game is inauthentic.
In hindsight, the best time to add them to the game would have been in the alpha/beta.
Not having RSC holiday items is inauthentic only insofar as not having an established player base with characters to transfer from RSC into the beta is inauthentic. There are inherent inauthenticities to starting at 2004 without the history of an RSC player base. This is one of them.
Lost City is a preservation of the 2004 game mechanics and world. It does not aim to replicate every little circumstance coinciding with 2004 RuneScape.
90% of 2004 quest and items came directly from RuneScape classic, some were just imported to have rs2 features, not having items that were in 2004 is a MASSIVE ERROR and FRAUD

They existed only because players had obtained them before RS2 came out. Lost City started in RS2 and is therefore fundamentally inauthentic (if authenticity requires an existing player base). The devs know that and don’t care, because that’s not what this project was made to be.
Classic holiday items were not obtainable in 2004. Case closed. If you think that breaks the game, feel free to spin up your own server and make your own changes.
The game engine is a NPC that dropped them all around RuneScape it was a code injected into the game by a jagex moderator which is also considered a non player character
Moderators are not NPCs by any definition of the word. They’re players just like you and I. That also wasn’t 2004, so its irrelevant.
If you really believe its inaccurate, you’re free to start your own server and claim its more historically accurate than Lost City is. All the files to do so are available in the GitHub
I’ll do it if you help me then we can make the greatest 04scape game in history 2.25xp, drop trading allowed, multiple login allowed, rares ingame, can we split membership profits
This is a preservation project. It sounds like you want a typical private server. plenty of those already exist lol. You’re on the wrong website for what you want. I think you’d have more fun playing Scape05. They already have the things you want like holiday rares and multilogging
