An idea for partyhats

From seeing all the posts on the forum asking for the devs to reintroduce rare holiday items, I’ve been paying attention to the reasons people seem to want them, and I’ve come up with an idea. My idea is very inauthentic, and it might not even be possible to cleanly implement it in the 2004scape engine, so I do not feel very strongly about it, but I figured I’d put it here for folks to think about:

Give Diango a stock of Christmas crackers, which sell for a high price like 1-10 million gp each and never restock, and this stock would synchronize across worlds.

This accomplishes the following objectives:

  1. Adding partyhats back into the game (duh)
  2. Keeps the original xmas items rare (i.e. there is only one chance to get them)
  3. Distributing rares in a way that does not unfairly privilege people who were in the right place at the right time looking to get rich quick
  4. Gives people something to work toward that isn’t a monster drop
  5. Removes a large chunk of gp from the economy (admittedly this will have a short-term effect)

What do you think? As I said, I’m not married to this idea, and I wouldn’t be that disappointed if partyhats were never reintroduced at all. Just an idea that occurred to me.

they just need to copy 2002. that’s it

(and 2001)

charecter limit

I agree with this. Despite not being authentic to 2004, it’s the most authentic method of injecting “rares” into the game that is possible in an RS2-only server, so I advocate for this.
