Firstly, well done for bringing the community bags of nostalgia! Do Jagex know about this launch? If so, what’s their approach?
Also, will it stay at 2004?

don’t take my word for it, but i have heard talk of 2005 in the future. how they plan to implement that–i do not know. could be in line with original timeline release, so a year from now, or slower. not real sure. just spit-balling.
as far as jagex knowing or not–i doubt it yet.

Exactly the goal. This is a progression server powered by an effort to openly preserve the game. When we cross a milestone to another year, the previous year will be copied and run as a fork while the main server continues on. If you want to stay in a previous year, you can. You do not have to restart from scratch to play in a future year.
