Once the offers for 50m are satisfied due to more rares coming into the game over the next 12 weekends (especially if rates remain higher), what will the price be? This is just basic supply and demand, it’s natural to anticipate a fall in price.
By this logic nobody will ever be able to even buy a rare, except maybe in exchange for other rares.
For it to fall sure, that makes sense, but they prices will never be worth less or the same as a Robin or Ranger boots. That makes 0 sense. Unless everyone in the game gets at least 1 rare item by the end of the next 12 weeks
Current buy offers are around 50m for a red phat, and a ranger set is ~34m. We are only 1/4 of the way through the rare release period (and 21% more came into the game this weekend), and some of those offers may even get the rare (or an exchangeable one) themselves. So to me it seems pretty likely that offers will be near or below a ranger set eventually.
How many rares have sold for 50m or less? im not aware of any. Just because someone makes up a buy order on the marketplace and sets a price, doesn’t make it the going rate of an item?
Like we all know, a white phat was sold for ~80m. As you know, as more rares come into the game (the supply increases), costs will fall.
So because one person decided to sell their hat for 80m and someone paid that, you think that sets the market for every rare? Supply will ultimately affect the final prices but you keep disregarding the fact that once the event is over there are no more rares spawing into the game.
Costs will fall in the short term but people have already given their intention of acquiring rares and alching them to make the remaining rares worth more.
In addition to that other players will quit, some will die with their rares and lose them to despawn, etc.
I think we are on the same page that prices will fall in the short term.
Technically yes, that is what the market is set at is it’s the only known sale. I’d say they are valued around 80-100m right now. Basic supply and demand, and what someone is willing to pay- you ask 200m for it all day, but until someone decides to pay that, it’s only worth what they have sold for.
Have you ever bought/sold a house? That’s exactly how a house is appraised. When you go to sell your house, the appraisal will be however much houses around you recently sold for.
So comps make a difference I acknowledge that but if there’s a house built in 2022 1300 sq/ft and it sold for 400K
but my house also built in 2022, is also 1300 sq/ft but has a $150K custom concrete back yard with a 1100 sq/ft shop, its not going to make my house also worth $400k even though they look the same from the street.
comps set a floor, not a ceiling
A fair price is whatever a buyer and seller agree upon. To keep perseverating on what the price “should” be seems pointless. If you want to sell your rare, come up with a price you like and offer it for sale. If you receive offers you don’t like, simply decline. There is no harm in making offers on either end.
Right. I’ve been offered 50m and 75m cash for the green mask. So far i’ve declined both offers and don’t plan on settling for less.
I really just want a trade
Sounds like you will need to be patient then
This post was just to gather information and spur the discussion on values. I don’t plan on parting with my mask unless the deal is too good to decline or its a trade for the exact p hat I want
Heres also a scenario. You want 100m for a rare, could be 1-3 months before enough players have that money to make those moves on a consistent basis. You pass on 75m today. 75m reinvested properly into a volatile market that is private server 04 scape could be an insane return. Enough to buy two rares when the time comes. But who knows, speculation on a volatile market.
all this to say - damned if you do, damned if you dont
nobodys paying 75m for a mask stop capping
bro said basic supply and demand
there is no supply and extreme demand… the fact that more rares will enter the game is already factored into the price
It depends on how bad the person wants the item. If nobody is buying for that price they lower it, a visa versa, the price is raised if people are willing to offer more etc. until they get a buyer and that becomes the custom price for rares and stuff like that.
