There are too many worlds

Thanks for your update

it’s insane people are crying about the speed of updates and the available worlds. spoiled children. you’re literally playing a game for free. cringe.

It’s insane you came into the thread to offer nothing and tell everyone they’re children for discussing the game.

The game has lost about 150 active players since the world count dropped, which was about a third of the active playerbase Can’t really say if the world count dropping was the cause - many people are effectively at endgame already so they could just be leaving due to a lack of content left to do.

I think most people on these forums want to see the game thrive, but everyone is gonna have different ideas on how to do that, including the devs. Ultimately it’s up to them to decide but we make our arguments wherever we can.

To those complaining about shops being empty etc Welcome to 2004. If ytou actually played in 2004, like myself and many others, you’d know that shops back then, as well as training spots, were always competed for. If you don’t like authenticity, find a new server. That is my input for the day. Have a great weekend and happy scaping all!

You know there’s a reply feature on here mr mime, you don’t have to vaguepost about “those people complaining about empty shops” I’m the only one who mentioned that.

Authentically there were hundreds of players per world, but you can’t really replicate that without limiting the worlds to 3-5 regions, and I think if you did that even more players would either want to, or be forced to quit so the worlds still wouldn’t be “authentically full”.

All that to say, the player experience can never be authentic, only the gameplay. I just wanna buy some addy arrows man.

is this your first time playing a timeline release private server? the majority of these issues are extremely common in world of warcraft, maple story, warhammer, guild wars, ect. private servers. baffling people are even surprised the server hype died off. ofc tons of players dipped after playing for a few days. these systems are super outdated and current day QOL is incredible in games today. also players at endgame playing less and less isn’t surprising at all. commonly happens in many other mmorpg’s developed and published by multi-billion dollar companies.

these devs are working for free, providing live servers for free, and have done fine. want to play with zero competition, download the gamebuild and host your own server.

Not surprised, dunno who you’re even responding to honestly it’s like you ignored my entire message and went off an a tirade about how game is old. I literally said “yes they could be leaving because they’re endgame” too.

I didn’t ask for anything, I said that removing worlds would likely make playercount drop. They removed worlds, playercount dropped.

No idea why you think I’m crying to the mods to reinstate the worlds, or change the game in some way. It’s annoying for gathering arrows, an activity I haven’t done since the worlds were removed because I’m on another grind. If the devs can’t afford/don’t want to maintain additional worlds that is their choice.

The player count dropped massively BEFORE worlds got reduced.

Yes, there was a peak that was very high right around when members dropped. It was holding steady around 550 players at most times before worlds got cut, now its more like 300-350 at most times.

Again not even saying it’s to blame, I can’t prove that. Just that it’s lower now than it was before.

Leave it organic!

  • Release updates whenever
  • Let the community tell others about it

I’ve seen no hint of this, but what if updates are held back in order to bulk multiple of em to ship all at once for news and popularity for the Live server?

Yeah it’ll get players; but it intentionally halted a dev-side process for non-dev-related fame, vs releasing updates asap for people to enjoy asap.

I want updates asap :stuck_out_tongue:

Worlds were reduced in response to the player drop. You’re putting the card before the horse.

Keep repeating the same thing over and over I guess, ignore your eyes when you look at the player counts before and after the world totals dropped.

It’s cart, not card btw. Not sure if typo or misheard metaphor.

I don’t get anything from lying to you here, but you’re wasting my time at this point.

"I’m decreasing the amount of worlds today, we still have the same number of regions, but we don’t need to support that many players - I doubled them for members to make sure everyone had a good experience. World IDs will change in a future update. " - Pazaz

Why would he type all of this BEFORE the player drop? He said “we don’t need to support that many players”, showing that the need to support that many is not longer there because the player count has already dropped at the time of the post. By your logic, he reduced the worlds and was fine with it directly causing player count to drop? Yea right lmfao. You say “ignore your eyes”, but you’re ignoring Pazaz/basic logic.

Again you’re just repeating over and over the same thing, are you like an AI chatbot?

Why reply if you won’t engage with anything I said? Can’t admit you’re just wrong? lmfao

Yes, obviously I’m the one not engaging here. You’ve asserted to me 3 times that the player count has not dropped since the number of worlds was reduced.

It has.

I have nothing more to say to you.

correlation does not imply causation

the hype just died down, thats it

instead of replying to everyone on this thread, you could put in that effort to fletch some addy arrows eh

In case you haven’t noticed I enjoy arguing, a lot more than getting 74+ smithing to fletch my own arrows that’s for sure.

I’ve addressed correlation already several times. Just stunned at the rockheaded refusal to believe that doubling the number of people per world could lead to resource competition getting worse and players becoming frustrated and not playing/not playing as often.

Didn’t say it was the only possible reason, didn’t say it was all Pazazs fault for doing this, not begging for worlds back, just wish there was a reality we all shared where there were facts and conclusions drawn from those facts.

Like I can sit here and go “the hype died down around the server but that’s not why players left, they left because of toxic forum posters” and when you say

“the hype just died down, thats it”

I can say

“correlation does not imply causation”

and around and around we go - who is correct? I think some people might know…

doubling the number of people per world could lead to resource competition getting worse and players becoming frustrated and not playing/not playing as often

fortunately, this is not a concern for this project. the goal is to recreate the game as it was and the live server is effectively a decentralised QA test with the ability to play the game as a side product

until anything in this direction changes, crying on forums is not going to achieve much

suggest u get to smithing bud

I don’t know how to tell you this but Pazaz does care about the player base. It is not his primary concern, but it is a secondary concern.

I’m not even asking for anything, at this point re-adding the worlds would likely not change the player count. Those players are gone until something (like an update) brings them back.

I’m sorry that you people are such devout bootlickers that any word of the mildest milquetoast criticism of one of his decisions is met with this level of disdain.
