The Tail of a Crazy Cat Lady 🐈

I’m what I like to call a ā€œSlow Skillerā€, which means I tend to have goals in mind, and I pursue those goals in ways which are often inefficient, but which keep me engaged and keep the game enjoyable for me.

I think I play Runescape more like a Sim than most people do. I’m super unhurried and non-competitive.

My Current LONGTERM Goals

  • 99 Runecrafting
  • 99 Woodcutting
  • 99 Fletching
  • 99 Magic
  • 99 ranged

(I will be breaking these goals into mini goals as I go)

I’m something in between an ironman and a regular player in terms of resource gathering and play style.

My next post will fill you in on what I’m up to in game in terms of more immediate goals and what I’m currently doing in game.

My rsn = Meowgical, Huge Kitties is my tiny noob account, and is not being played much at all currently.

Summary

My current mini-goals are 75 woodcutting and 70 runecrafting and at the moment I’m gnomeglidering nats, with woodcutting in Draynor to restore run energy.

It works out to be about 2 loads of each before I switch skills. Not terribly efficient, but it’s kind of fun to switch back and forth.

I will be training agility pretty soon and this should help with the run energy issue.

Geoduck on your goals! I absolutely love these little update/goal threads. It gives us a little window into the lives of the people we play alongside!

May Toadius be with you!

Good luck on your adventure Cat! I really like and understand the ā€œslow and steadyā€ approach you’re taking, I’m the same with my progression😊 Did you take the same route in RS back in the day, or are you trying something new this time around?

I’m looking forward to keeping up with your journey, I suspect it’ll be pretty satisfying as opposed to ā€œjustā€ producing GP and then buying the materialsšŸ™ŒšŸ½

On my first account in rs2 I played this way alot - I’ve played the more ā€œefficientā€ way on other accounts, during various versions of Rs and long story short - if I don’t treat RS like a job I hate, I actually play :stuck_out_tongue:

Nothing like a gnome cocktail or two while you run back and forth charging magical rocks.

I’m getting excited to get this rc level, so I’m going to switch back to just rc and alch. Sometimes I cut yews and fletch them now that I can, but I am also working my way through alching a fat stack of maple longs (u) from my fletching journey.

Tell me my cats are pretty :cat:

Missed the flashy screenie - but yay 65 rc!

Today I’m going to get 75 ranged, and then I’ll likely be runecrafting and wood cutting again. I allow myself to wander off and do whatever appeals to me most of the time though - so who knows what I’ll actually wind up doing.

Your inventory management is very pleasing. Those 6 stacks of death runes are quite pretty as well! Never seen that before xD

So your method for rc is two invs of nats then recharge run wcing? I dig it, might make rc more bearable for me.

I do a lot of mixed skilling just to keep myself interested.

Tell me my cats are pretty :cat:

Your cats are pretty :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Edit: We got a black kitten Irl. so I went and got a black kitten in game, now I don’t want to grow it into a cat lol!

I work the bulk of my hours on the weekends, so I usually just do something simple and afk when I am at home.

I also have pretty bad carpal tunnel, so clicky clicky things like dropping fish and cooking are things I try to do in very small amounts.

I’ve finally hit my days off, so I’m going to dig my heels in and cut a bunch of yews and craft a few nats, and pick and spin some flax.

I’d really like to be able to cut, fletch and alch mage longs, and that’s gonna take me a bunch of levels to arrive at.

Now that I’ve done the quests I trade my adult cats for death runes, but if I get a black kitten I overgrow it and add it to my bank stack :stuck_out_tongue:

I got distracted and did some side questing on IRLscape!

Today I’m trying to get 75 wc (yay milestone).

To break up the monotony of camping yews all day, I’m cooking an inventory of lobs or salmon every bank trip. I really hate cooking (I have carpal tunnel), so this also gets it done in smaller chunks.

Oh yeah, I bought 5k ess today so I wont have to mine for a bit anyway :stuck_out_tongue:

Most of the screenshots are without Cats! :stuck_out_tongue:

I haven’t had a cat on 2004Scape yet, but I always had a kitten around for quests/everything OSRS and RS3; was a cool little extra mechanic to have to feed/interact every now and then, a nice follower to have, and deaths for Ancients is always nice :stuck_out_tongue: (had like 10K before starting DT1)

I could probably show you a yellow dot that’s a cat hooked on a door or some other corner in pretty much all of them. I do try not to bring them with me to combat areas or via gliders because they get in other people’s way though.

Time to cut one load of magic logs, then go do something else.

I work for the next 5 days, so I’ll just be pecking away at fletching, firemaking, cooking, and of course nat crafting and alching in my down time. Basically, I allow myself the luxury of just doing whatever I feel like.

My job is pretty physical so on work days I’m pretty erratic about RS.
