Iām what I like to call a āSlow Skillerā, which means I tend to have goals in mind, and I pursue those goals in ways which are often inefficient, but which keep me engaged and keep the game enjoyable for me.
I think I play Runescape more like a Sim than most people do. Iām super unhurried and non-competitive.
My Current LONGTERM Goals
99 Runecrafting
99 Woodcutting
99 Fletching
99 Magic
99 ranged
(I will be breaking these goals into mini goals as I go)
Iām something in between an ironman and a regular player in terms of resource gathering and play style.
My next post will fill you in on what Iām up to in game in terms of more immediate goals and what Iām currently doing in game.
My rsn = Meowgical, Huge Kitties is my tiny noob account, and is not being played much at all currently.
My current mini-goals are 75 woodcutting and 70 runecrafting and at the moment Iām gnomeglidering nats, with woodcutting in Draynor to restore run energy.
It works out to be about 2 loads of each before I switch skills. Not terribly efficient, but itās kind of fun to switch back and forth.
I will be training agility pretty soon and this should help with the run energy issue.
Good luck on your adventure Cat! I really like and understand the āslow and steadyā approach youāre taking, Iām the same with my progressionš Did you take the same route in RS back in the day, or are you trying something new this time around?
Iām looking forward to keeping up with your journey, I suspect itāll be pretty satisfying as opposed to ājustā producing GP and then buying the materialsšš½
On my first account in rs2 I played this way alot - Iāve played the more āefficientā way on other accounts, during various versions of Rs and long story short - if I donāt treat RS like a job I hate, I actually play
Iām getting excited to get this rc level, so Iām going to switch back to just rc and alch. Sometimes I cut yews and fletch them now that I can, but I am also working my way through alching a fat stack of maple longs (u) from my fletching journey.
Today Iām going to get 75 ranged, and then Iāll likely be runecrafting and wood cutting again. I allow myself to wander off and do whatever appeals to me most of the time though - so who knows what Iāll actually wind up doing.
To break up the monotony of camping yews all day, Iām cooking an inventory of lobs or salmon every bank trip. I really hate cooking (I have carpal tunnel), so this also gets it done in smaller chunks.
Oh yeah, I bought 5k ess today so I wont have to mine for a bit anyway
I havenāt had a cat on 2004Scape yet, but I always had a kitten around for quests/everything OSRS and RS3; was a cool little extra mechanic to have to feed/interact every now and then, a nice follower to have, and deaths for Ancients is always nice (had like 10K before starting DT1)
I could probably show you a yellow dot thatās a cat hooked on a door or some other corner in pretty much all of them. I do try not to bring them with me to combat areas or via gliders because they get in other peopleās way though.
I work for the next 5 days, so Iāll just be pecking away at fletching, firemaking, cooking, and of course nat crafting and alching in my down time. Basically, I allow myself the luxury of just doing whatever I feel like.
My job is pretty physical so on work days Iām pretty erratic about RS.
