This server has no bots because there is no real IRL market for any of the items obtained here. Besides selling them for in-game gold, what else are you supposed to do with that?
In addition to this, most players have already experienced all the content 2004 has to offer. There really isn’t a whole lot of point to bot on here.
Not saying it wouldn’t happen. But there wouldn’t be troves and troves of botters if it was allowed lol
Let’s say it’s an unfair advantage to have friends. How do you enforce it? Do you have mods that ban people who make trades that are too far outside the market norms?
If your point is truly “multilogging isn’t an unfair advantage if anyone can do it”, first of all that doesn’t matter, it’s still against the rules, and second, anyone can create a clan.
The people who helped Dead Botting get rank 1 smithing all had 1M+ banks when DB started selling Rune Scims. Same thing happened when he got rank 1 fletching and herblore. Whole clan got rich af
The mods have banned people for RWT so this depends on your definition of “real IRL market”. But also people will bot just for the sake of botting, it’s not just about selling gold for real $
Hi. Wish people wouldn’t instigate and antagonize each other - it’s not worth your energy! I have just enough energy to work and then spend some hobby time coding this project. I understand if you’ve got a lot of feelings toward DB in particular.
In January (I think?) I asked my <1k discord community what we should do regarding accounts and we agreed on a single account at a time, expecting ~30 players online concurrently, and that would’ve been plenty to call it a success. We went far beyond any expectations and kept the same decisions in place from our tiny community. I’ve been long satisfied, no matter what happens.
Don’t read into things that much. We’re all in our 30s and late 20s, this is our escape from the world while we try to recreate some funny pixels from our childhood.
I host this for players to have safe access to the old game, anyone is welcome here to observe some history.
I don’t do any moderating myself these days (just at the very start), but mod team is always getting better regarding judgements and appeals 
Btw, there was a RWT (swapping) market on Sythe and plenty of gold farmers, but after months of banning sellers and buyers it’s fizzled out.
I’m going to lock the thread so people don’t continue fighting needlessly, and I hope you can redirect your energy into something more worthwhile and productive. This game isn’t that serious - appreciate the feedback regarding the rule and enforcement. Good luck on your hobby time / whatever you have fun doing!

At the start of the server, we were open for the rule to go either way depending on what our player base wanted. Our player base wanted the historic rules, so that’s what we did.
Pretty much all of the hardworking devs and contributors really like the idea of using era accurate rules . It wouldn’t really be fair to them to just ignore their input
