Hi Adam, thanks for reaching out. The integration and requirement is solely because Discord has a fleshed out anti-spam system and most of us are gamers on Discord already. We also group your characters under a single discord account, you can always reset/change your passwords so you are never locked out if you forget any credentials - as long as you have access to your Discord account.
I understand some geographical areas are banned from using Discord, or some people have a high focus on privacy and think Discord is unsafe.
If you can’t make a Discord account then please email [email protected], this process is however manual on my end and there will be some back and forth correspondence. I don’t have time to do too many of these 
Include a list of usernames in priority order and you’ll get a randomly generated password to use for whatever one is available. Our recent 2fa security feature is limited to Discord-protected accounts, however!
