He will just waste your time. Ran all the way down to port sarim to meet him there as he was buying feathers to buy 2k mind runes @ 14 ea. As a joke I put in 20k instead of 28k and accepted the first trade and instantly spammed jk multiple times. He declined the trade quicker than I could put the other 8k up said “bro” and let me plead for 15 seconds before hopping. I had more than enough on me to buy the runes and even offered him 15 ea. I’m really not mad and I hope he’s not upset though he did seem quite so I thought it was funny regardless, but just make sure if you’re buying from him you don’t joke with him because there’s no telling what’s going to rub him the wrong way.
hes competing for 1 magic 99, chance at 04scape history. probably putting like 18 hour days everyday to get it before mems so any waste would be pretty annoying lol

He wasted his own time, I put up 20k instead of 28k; could have been an honest mistake. People put up the wrong amount all the time and would have only took milliseconds to fix. Big man with big magic got big issues.
Move on from what? I’m literally just posting this in hopes that it reaches someone and discourages them from joking with the guy if they buy something from him so that he goes through with the trade and their time isn’t wasted?

I’m really surprised you’d just out yourself like this - i didn’t even bother trying to report or explain it because I’ve been cursing so I can’t type, but since i’m fire blasting right now, i can type a bit.
You ran up on the shop, we entered trade quickly and put up our trades within 3-5 seconds. We agreed before hand in pm 14 each 28k for 2000 mind runes.
I put up the minds, you put up 20k - we went to second screen again within 3 seconds of trading.
I stared at the second screen for 15 seconds and typed “bro”.when you wouldn’t decline the trade and fix your “mistake” which I gave the benefit of the doubt that you made a mistake until you started spamming “just kidding just kidding!!!”
I think i should give you my user name, because not even I could ever be so foolish as to publicly out myself at a failed scam when my scamee didn’t even pursue or report me - congratulations, you’re a fool.
You can’t even say it’s a mistake either because you’ve already admitted “you were joking” if you had said “sorry I put the wrong amount” I would of believed you, but since you started spamming “just kidding” and wasted my time it’s clear to me you were hoping i’d see the 0 as an 8 you would of walked away if I accepted, or you would of made fun of me for accepting it. Either way it’s poor taste and you self admitted it.

100% could have been a mistake. how many times have i typed “10k” and accidentally put up 10 coins.
Is 69iq right to tell him to kick rocks, No, but it’s his right to do so. It takes 2 to trade.
Ultimately what happened here is that OP accidentally slighted 69iq and because of that, 69iq exercised his legal right to decline to trade with you.
Really all this shows is that people are taking this game too seriously. Chill. Have fun. Don’t take things personally. I know it’s 2004, but we don’t have to role play as 12 year olds in at recess.

This is the best understanding of it - not only was it an attempted scam but it was wasting my time.

Attempted scam is your perspective. A more objective perspective would be “attempted low ball” at best. he didn’t try to lure you, he didn’t tell you they were worth less than they are, he didn’t tell you monkey nuts are a rare members item. those are scams.
I know when someone is trying to scam me :')

No matter how you view it, I think everyone can agree a PSA wasn’t necessary and OP should’ve just moved on like how people normally do. Trades like this happen on a regular basis but nobody actually takes the time to air them out on a public forum.

As a fellow person who was not involved in the interaction, You can not know the intentions of either party. Since you have no evidence, you are making a baseless assumption. Given there is only conflicting testimony from the 2 people who were involved, i’m calling that a tie and both parties are being equally ridiculous. Case dismissed.
You should never be on a jury, and i’m not ridiculous to reply to someone bad mouthing me. - Especially since as you pointed out that you are not involved you shouldn’t speak on it.

I didn’t say you don’t have a right to reply, just that assuming that you know what the other person’s intentions are, is ridiculous. Judging them as a scammer because they ultimately wasted 30 of your precious seconds is also ridiculous. Coming back and crying more after you’ve said your piece and signed off in a huff, is ridiculous.
