I have to agree. After thinking it over, I think it’s better overall that players are made to be like tigers, not careless. Risk and reward! But on the other side, dc’ing is brutal and the possibility exists at any moment, whether client or server side. Now I understand also some users may have connection issues simply due to how their browser treats the game and its packets. Something to put up with, I suppose.
Looks like you’re one of the ones that will enjoy a 2008+ iteration. Good. When they release it, you can play that iteration. I’m sure you will be welcome there.
That’s sometimes all it takes. Thinking for just a few moments.
Yes, and even in the case of DC’s, there’s a reason why back in the day many people chose to “rag” bosses. It made it a bit less efficient, but lessened the punishment of death. The player is able to determine the risk for themselves in most scenarios. Instead of being treated like a baby.
Thanks for your input. I really appreciate your finger-wagging.
Sure, you can amount any and all deaths occurring by a lost connection to something like an inability to plan well. You could say the same for any death, actually. Your point?
My point is that after what OSRS did to death mechanics, I’m (pretending to be) surprised we’re even having this discussion.
I don’t actually believe the death mechanics cause people to quit. Maybe for a few days. But they’ll understand it’s part of what actually makes the game good, and, begrudgingly, log back in.
Good to have you back; even better to have you see the light.
