Day Two
1st Jan 2025, happy new year!
I decided I wanted to stockpile runes to train magic. Runecrafting sounded boring so I thought I would try my hand at killing dark wizards for their drops instead.
I headed to the Lumbridge cow pen and gathered enough cowhides for a full set of leather armor:
+7 magic defense is less than I hoped for. I’ll have to upgrade to hardleather/studded leather sometime soon, but this should do for now.
After tanning and crafting my armor I was conveniently located next to the small net fishing spots in Al Kharid so I trained fishing to 30 and cooking to 25. I had to dodge an aggressive scorpion a few times:
And a river troll once:
Next I gathered some feathers in Lumbridge, made a trip out of my way to Port Sarim for fishing gear, and then returned to Varrock to begin stockpiling salmon:
Loot from the Al Kharid cooking range:

After building up a modest supply of food, I decided it was time to try my luck. I started by killing the level 7 dark wizards in Draynor since I wasn’t sure of any other area that didn’t have level 20 spawns. The level 20 wizards will aggress and very likely kill me quickly.
I trained strength with a mithril scimitar and also trained magic as I obtained the runes to cast spells. Took some risky screenshots:
Initially the wizards would hit me fairly often (50% of the time maybe) since I had level 2 magic, but as I gained magic levels I noticed I was eating much less.
Eventually a zombie random event spawned and I killed it in quite a shameful way as I had no hope of prevailing otherwise. Here is a video of the kill and the surprise reward at the end!
I stopped shortly after this. Loot from roughly one hour of dark wizards:
Plus some gold and a handful of air and mind runes that got spent on magic training.
Ending stats:
And I organized my bank a bit so here’s a pic of that:
Quite modest but it’s good enough for now. Still need placeholders for a lot of this stuff…
