I want to write this post in appreciation of the development team and the community as a whole - playing this game was a blast!
I completed every quest and unlocked every music track, which was what I set out to do from the beginning. Reliving these memories means a lot, since Runescape was a big part of my childhood and early teens.
Apart from us being adults now, and being deeply familiar with the game (which like it or not, takes away some of the magic of playing this game), the one thing that I really felt was lacking was the number of people online.
Having empty banks, uncontested skilling and pvm spots just felt like walking through a ghost town. It is for this reason that I am ultimately saying goodbye to this server (not the lack of content).
I don’t want to end this on such a depressing note, so I will add one last thing. It is my sincere hope that this server gets recognized by Jagex and somehow incorporated to Project Zanaris. With a bigger player base, this server can truly exhibit its full potential.
And even if this doesn’t happen, what you have created is truly amazing and you have my deepest appreciation and respect!
The reason for the uncontested skilling and pvm spots IS because of the lack of content, and it’s why many players are growing a bit weary and nearing burnout.
The first solution would be to add an update schedule. Secondly, allow for the community to help fund this project so we can jump ahead in some updates.
Finally, this game needs to be updated several months ahead, likely to barrows content, before we can expect a player base to stick around. There just simply isn’t enough content relative to OSRS or other private server options.
I appreciate this game, so much so that sometimes I log in and bankstand just to make it look better. We are seeing the player count dwindle day by day, I feel like an announcement of when we can expect some major updates would revitalize the player base.
For the sake of the longterm health of this game, updates HAVE to come faster, at least the next couple months worth. Start a fundraiser if it would help, we are all adults and can afford to help out on this project.
If this server had 2006-7 content, that would be enough to keep people occupied for years. The early 2004 content is cool and all but everything can be completed in like 1 month.
